I am going to begin this tutorial by addressing one of the most common requests that I receive: how to draw women’s breasts (heh, I never thought I’d actually be making a tutorial about this…. ^_^). One of the most important things you should consider is to make your subject look natural; you can draw an attractive female without making her look like a “silicon implant ad,” as a friend of mine put it. ^_^
Draw a stick figure. Use circle for the head, small circles for the location of the joints and small triangles for the hands and feet. These shapes are connected using lines to make a framework for the body.
Remember that hair has volume and is often layered. Don’t make it too perfect, because real hair is not like that.

The main problems people seem to have with drawing breasts are the shape and the placement. A lot of artists (professionals as well as amatuers) make them look like balloons that have been taped onto the subject’s chest; this is hardly a natural look. If you look through figure drawing books, you’ll see that they are more like halves of a sphere or overturned teacups rather than balloons.
Add more details and clothes. Erase the initial draft lines.
You would probably make them 3 to 4 heads tall, and they usually would be more stubby than a teen or an adult. Their fingers would be shorter, and their legs would only be a little longer than their torso.

Try to draw a more slender look to your character, and maybe soften his facial features, in order to make him look feminine.
Here is one last pose to go over the size and placement. It’s harder to see here, but the breasts are still at the 45 degree angle from the center line (which isn’t drawn in this picture; sorry about that ^_^;). Notice that the leftmost breast is drawn as a half-sphere, not as a full sphere. If you want to exaggerate the size, that’s your choice, but I personally don’t think its necessary.
One more thing I wanted to cover regarding the torso is how to draw it if an arm is lifted. ^_^ I have personally found this difficult sometimes, so I figured it was a good thing to go over. If the arm is lifted, then the back of the torso will be exposed. Although a female’s torso isn’t as round and full as a males, it should still stick out in the back. Don’t make the upper torso too narrow. Notice also how the top of the right-most breast doesn’t just keep curving inwards in a circle; remember that it is not a full sphere, so it is attached to the muscles of the shoulder.

Basically use ‘swish’ lines. Draw the contact stage of a martial arts movement and then draw curved lines from where the limb was before. This illustrates the direction from which the limb has moved.

Draw the head and torso. Make the man’s trunk broader as compared to a female’s slender waistline.
Sketch the basic guidelines for the legs and arms. Use circles and oblongs. Use circles for the palm and the joints.
Now, note the position. Imagine a central guideline that runs down the center of your subject’s body, as shown at the left. The breasts are at 45 degree angles from that center line, and are about halfway down the chest (shown by the red diagonal guidelines). Be very careful not to draw them too close together or too far apart, or too high on the chest; these are commonly made mistakes. As you will see in examples below, this basic rule of the 45 degree placement will apply to pretty much whatever pose you are using.
Add the guidelines for the body shape. Draw a vertical line and in the third and fourth segment of the rectangle, draw the curve of the body.
Sketch the shape of the face and the main frame of the body. Draw a curved rectangle for the upper body. Draw a pantie-like shape for the hips.
Sketch a few more details like the hair and clothing. Make sure that the clothing is close to the skin.
You should shade under the chest (breasts, to be specific), and where the lightning isn’t pointed to.
Now, lets move on to the neck and shoulders. When you draw the shoulders, notice that they are slope down smoothly, they aren’t flat. Try to take the musculature structure of the neck and shoulders into consideration, especially if you are going for a more realistic look. They should be shaped more like a clothes hanger, and not drawn flat and hard.
Draw the head and torso. Add feminine details like the breasts and remember to make the waistline look slender and the hips slightly wide.
Add two slanted lines. These are used to connect the middle of the neck to the edge of the rectangle.
Sketch the a big curved rectangle below the head and a circle of the same diameter. Allot a reasonable space for the neck between the head and the rectangle.
Here is another pose, showing the torso from a front view. Note how the breasts are still located at 45 degree angles from the center line of the body. Oh, also take note of the shading. After looking at various examples, I find that shading in this fashion (rather than just following the lower curves as you would shade a sphere) makes them look more natural.
You would draw it the same way that you would draw female hair, just a bit shorter if you do not want the male to have long hair.
Here are some more examples of various shoulder positions. Notice that the shoulders are never drawn flat and dull.
The legs start right below the torso, and remember, they are slightly longer than the body with the thighs thicker at the start and slimming down at the knee. Also, the calves on females are thinner while the calves on males are more muscular.
Erase the draft lines and add more details. You can add the clothes but be sure to follow the figure of the body.
Try using softer lines for females and more angular lines for males. Also, try to make the arms more slender on females, and more muscular on males.

First, do a silhouette of the torso of the person. The silhouette gives you a space where you can detail. Then go over the silhouette, drawing in shoulder muscles, neck bones, pectoral muscles, breasts, and such.
Afterwards it’s all about envisioning what you want to person to be doing. If the silhouette of the torso is flat on the water, maybe they are doing a backstroke. Then erase the silhouette layer and make new silhouettes for the other body parts.

The arm is split into three categories. Drawing a deltoid is similar to drawing a tear drop. The point of the tear drop should be pointed in the direction of the arm. The humerus can be drawn as a cylinder.
It should come down no further than the navel. The forearm kind of looks like a baseball bat. It should extend down to the groin where the hand will start. Make sure when you connect the forearm to the humerus that the pinch is not as tight as the pinch in the wrist.
The hand is kind of like a trapezoid, with the wider spot being where the fingers extend. The wider spot shouldn’t be too much wider than the wrist.
