If you’ve ever wanted a tablet monitor without the hefty cost of a Wacom Cintiq, this is a wonderful choice! I’d done my research via YouTube video reviews (and the reviews on here), and was immediately in love with the HK1560 — especially since it was half the price.
(I was so eager to get it that I paid for next day shipping, even.)The first thing to note is how sturdy it is — once it’s set up onto your desk, the built-in stand keeps it in place, with no sliding or shifting.
Set up was fairly easy, and even though I hit a few snags (mostly my computer acting up and not recognising it until I had left it powered off for a few hours), UGEE’s support got back to me fairly quickly and helped me get things up and running.
The only non-technical-issue-related gripe I’ve got about setup is that the HDMI and USB cables, at around 4 feet each, were a little on the short side (to me), but it’s relatively minor and easily fixed by buying extender cables.
Moving onto the included accessories now, we come to the tablet’s two pens. They’re similarly shaped to the pen of older-model Intuos tablets, so they felt familiar enough to maneuver without issue, though in place of an eraser tip there is, instead, a charger port.
(For those of you used to having an eraser, fret not; one of the pen’s two side buttons can be programmed to toggle between “Pen Mode” and “Eraser Mode”, which is as quick as, if not quicker than, flipping your pen around.
) Each pen took roughly an hour to charge completely, and there are LEDs on the side that light up when the pen is charging (and shut off when it’s fully charged). The battery in each of them is said to last 5 to 6 hours, but I haven’t had a single pen die yet (after 7 hours of on-and-off doodling), so your actual pen time may vary.
There’s also an included screen protector with an anti glare finish, but one may choose to work without it since it does make the screen somewhat blurry — not enough to be a huge distraction, but certainly enough for more detail-oriented artists to notice.
In addition, there’s a two-fingered drawing glove (with a really nice, satin feel) included for use, so your hand can more easily move against the screen, which is handy for heavier-handed individuals.
AND NOW, FINALLY, actually using the tablet. There are 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity with this tablet, so drawing strokes feels smooth and natural, and you can test (and modify) the sensitivity with the software included.
This is a system wide setting, too, so it works in any tablet-compatible art program; for my own tests, I used Adobe Photoshop CS5 and MediBang Paint. The tablet’s lack of customisable keys is something to get used to, but certainly not a dealbreaker, especially if you keep your keyboard close to you (or use a desk with a roll-out keyboard shelf.
All in all, for a price that’s roughly half of the most well-known tablet monitors, the HK1560 is a wonderful tool for anyone looking to draw on their computer. I would gladly recommend it!
5.0 out of 5 starsWhy is the screen so red (Resolved!! Read to see how I fixed it 🙂 )
I wanted to like it. I was so excited to get the tablet I set it up and put the box by the trash bins thinking with the ratings I saw there was a very small chance it would suck. Boy was luck not on my side.
one of the two rechargeable pens was already broken but I thought o well one is working and continued on. When I opened up Photoshop things went smooth until I drew on the left or right side of the screen.
I tried to work around it cause I wanted so badly to like the tablet after all it was my first graphics tablet and it was expensive for me. After about half an hour of trying I gave up. The pen line makes to many leaps on the left and right to work around.
I am so disappointed I want to cry and so pissed off I don’t even want to look at the darn thing. I’d like a full working replacement but because I put the box by the trash bin it got sprinkled on and isn’t usable any more.
I don’t think they will trade it. $100 bucks of my money and the rest was my boyfriends money.
I just got my product and was very excited about it and everything felt great out of the box. The pen felt really nice and pen and tablet worked really well except the whole tablet was shaded red in the display.
the blacks and whites that were supposed to be displayed on the screen were different shades of red, blues were purple, etc. I really hope there is a way to fix this or this is just a faulty device where i just happened to be unlucky.
UPDATE! 06/08/17After talking to the customer service who were really kind and patient gave me a quick response to let me replace the tablet and got a new one. This time the tablet thankfully was not red!* The stylus was great and felt very balanced and not too heavy to the hand.
* The 1080p displayed very well and had very good viewing angles and the colors are shown pretty accurately with my other monitor.* there was a tiny bit of parallax but it is really easy to get used to and also fortunately can be calibrated.
* screen protector is not the best but was a good try by ugee for throwing it in there, makes the screen feel more “slippery” to write on compared to just the regular glass screen, but it does reduce the glare by quite a bit which is a plus if you use it in a very well lit area.
* pen holder and pen glove were great* really great that the cables connects from the side compared to some other similar tablets where they connect from the bottom which can cause some problems.* three stars because there were some definitely noticeable dead pixels when I tested out for them and you shouldn’t typically have that many dead pixels from an item coming right out of the box.
I could try to send in for another replacement but don’t really want to pack everything back up again and wait for almost another 2 weeks of time to get another one.Update! 5/14/2018*Tablet software has gone to through the drains and does not work with Fire alpaca and only works half the time with Paint Tool Sai.
I do not know if it is all graphics problem or if it is also because of the tablet. I have tried contacting customer support and followed every step they said I should take from reinstalling drivers and software to Changing some things from the files of the software but still no luck.
I hope this does not happen to everyone else’s tablets because this is definitely feels like I have wasted my money on this tablet and felt very heartbroken.
Update 10 months later: We received the replacement within days of being contacted and it has worked wonderfully! No problems, beautiful color. My daughter uses all the time and loves it! In interfaces well with our HP desktop and all of the art program we’ve tried with it.
The customer service has also been outstanding. I’ve been very impressed with the way they have followed through and stood by their product. They made it right. I’ve changed my review to give them 5 stars.
I would buy another Ugee product and my daughter continues to enjoy this one.Originally I was very unhappy with this. The first month was great, my daughter loved it and then we started having nothing but problems with it – Dual screen stopped working, and consistently got a “no signal” message (only 4 months old) tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver multiple times.
Color image on screen was discolored and green. Same problems no matter which home computer we hooked up to. The company contacted me and has offered to either give me a full refund or new replacement.
Since my daughter loved it when it was working, we have opted to receive a replacement and give the product a second chance. We are awaiting our new tablet; I will update the review with more information when we have a chance to try it out.
I will say, customer service was on top of it and willing to make it right. May have just been a defective unit.

MY 16yr old has gone through 4 drawing tablets in two years. So we decided to drop a little more money and got her this one and she absolutely loves it. She set it up in her room and she draws for hours each day.
No crashes no issues with the pen. She can do anime, comic books, cartoons she’s already selling her art and has not had any issues at all. If you find yourself constantly buying a new tablet every six months I would recommend buying this one.
Worth the money and had we done this one to begin with I think we would have saved the amount this one cost us.
Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question.
UGEE HK1560 15.6 Inches Pen Display IPS Drawing Monitor Dual Monitor with Adjustable Stand
You could pay 3 times more and have the pen tilt technology, or you could get this and get to work without worrying about paying it off over months. Very responsive. I would have given it 5 stars if there were any programmable buttons, because working on a laptop has me doing acrobatic gestures to hit all the complex shortcut keys for Photoshop.
Not as useful as I’d hoped for Illustrator, but that is the nature of the software and I’m sure I’d be just as frustrated on any other Graphic Tablet. The film for the screen seems horrible at first, but I found that by lifting it up a few times it gets rid of the swirly oily looking patterns on the film.
Securely packed for shipment and unlike some other imported tablets, arrived in a few days straight from amazon.

No complaints here. I have been using this tablet since January with a variety of applications including Painter 2017 & 2018, Krita 2, Manga Studio 4 EX, Clip Studio Paint EX/Pro, Affinity Photo & Designer, and Artrage.
It has a very high pixel density for such a small screen, so making detailed paintings and graphics is very easy. The pen is comfy but I wish the buttons were higher up because it is easy to depress them accidentally.
The monitor glass is smooth and the pens do not scratch it. I don’t bother with the cover because it reduces the sensitivity and also it just isn’t needed. Is it a Cintiq? Nope. Is it worth it? Yeah, if you are out of arms and legs and starting a small business, this one doesn’t break your bank and works really well.
Krita has good drivers for Ugee tablets up through version 2. However version 3 drivers are just not satisfactory yet. I recommend using the older version of Krita if you want to use that program.
EDIT: On June 2nd I got an email from the seller asking if I had been experiencing problems with my tablet and I said yes, my screen has a reddish tint and I don’t know what to do and she emailed me back with instructions on how I might be able to fix it and it worked!! This is what she emailed me:Adjusting the Colour TempButtons from the top to bottom1.
Press the second button2. Press the third button and choose “Colour Temp”3. Press the first button, then press the “+””-” button to choose the Colour Temp pattern is “Personal”4. Press the third button5.
Press the “+””-” buttons to adjust the value.(I just set mine to normal and played with the contrast/brightness a little)//// Everything is perfect except for the fact that I am unable to change the color temperature and the screen just has a weird red tint to it, disrupting my work.

One of the pens arrived already broken. It continues to right click without any warning or input. But the 2nd one works perfectly fine, and all in all this is exactly what i asked for. Having a screen to draw on is very convenient and wonderful and has helped me improve even more.
And the times when I’m not drawing, it functions just fine as a second monitor to help with multitasking. Good if you’re an artist who doesn’t want/have enough for a Wacom tablet. Just sadly no buttons, but i came up with an alternative.
Very happy with this purchase
