Draw another brushed curve for the eyebrow, thicker at the right.

Add the pupil. Draw a big black circle for the pupil of the eye, add some shade and colour, and you’re done!

It is for the left eye, due to the brow being thicker on the right and thinning at the left half.

It depends on the size of your drawing. Just adjust the size of the eyes until you think they look good for your character.

Draw the bottom lash with a small dash, curved a bit upward to show your character’s cheek.

You could trace your first eye, flip the paper over, and use that to sketch out the second eye. Or you could just learn to accept and embrace the little imperfections in your drawings — after all, very few people have perfectly symmetrical faces/eyes.

Make a smaller circle on the bottom opposite side. This gives the eye another highlight.

Give the eye some highlights. Draw one, two, or three different circles in various sizes. They should overlap somewhere you want the pupil to be, but should take up a good bit of the iris too.

Make a large white circle pointing in the direction your character is facing. Add another small circle on the bottom corner. Typically, the top shine is larger than the bottom one. You can add more white spots if you like.

Draw partial oblongs in the middle of the oblong in Step 2. This is for the eye’s pupil.

Map out the lashes. Draw a stroke every once in a while to show how they curve. There will be less of these on the bottom than on the top since the first is thinner.

About three hours of practice as a beginner, but that’s a rough guess based on one person’s experience and it may take you less or more time. If it gets too annoying or if you keep messing up, try a different style of eye.

It helps to have someone who knows how to draw well sit with you and guide you.

To draw anime eyes, start by drawing a long downward curve and a shorter upward curve below it. Then, draw a large oval extending up from the bottom curve. Inside of the oval, draw a circle at the top and a circle at the bottom. Next, add some eyelashes extending off the top curve. Finally, shade in your eye so the center of the oval is black and the 2 circles in the oval are white.

Sketch a long curve, see photo. Then draw another shorter curve opposite the first. Add slightly curved lines down from each end. This is the basic eye. The top curve is typically thicker than the bottom.

Notice the mini-line at the end of the top eyelid. This is a characteristic of the anime style.

You should make a half-closed eye and tilted eyebrows. It will make it look tired.

Draw a half circle with a small circle in the middle. Draw near the left end.

Draw eyelashes. If your eye is on the left, make the lashes point toward the right side, if it’s on the right side, make it point toward the left. Eyelashes in anime are bolder and less feathery than realistic drawings.

You can also add smaller lashes on the bottom curve if you like. Also, draw a thin line slightly above the thick curved line you did in the beginning. This indicates the eye socket and gives the eyes more depth.

You can. Make the pupils look away from the thing that the character is getting shy about. You should most likely also add blush.

With a little practice, you can draw easy anime or manga eyes. These can be used on pretty much anything you want and look great on more realistic cartoon characters.

Fill in the lashes. Using the guidelines you just drew, thicken both of the lashes. The bottom lashes are much shorter and sparse than their counterparts, so keep that in mind.

It would probably be the best to use a sharp pencil and sketch lightly.

Yes, because it won’t look right. Erase it and try again. There is no harm in trying again and again until you have mastered the drawing; it’s the only way to gain the ability.

Use a small brush to outline and color so the eyes will look real.

For a wide face, position the eyes slightly farther away from each other. For a narrow, slender face, place the eyes somewhat closer together. Adjust as needed and remember to leave some space between the eyes for the nose.

To a certain extent, yes. Male characters often have smaller, sharper eyes. Their eyelashes will be less defined as well.

Draw in a small semi-circle at the top. This makes a highlight to show where the light is shining from.

Make their eyes crossed or tilt their head and add a question mark.

Always start drawing with light lines. Don’t use dark deep lines. It’s harder to erase if you need to.

What should be the size and shape of the face with respect to the eyes?

Connect the two curves with two more curves, on the left and right hand sides.Make sure to leave room for after you draw the curve.

Yes. Anybody can draw anime eyes if they put their mind to it.

It depends on the type of character you have in mind. For example, if you were aiming for a moody or aggressive character, you would draw smaller, thinner eyes. If you wanted a loud, bubbly character, you would probably draw much larger, defined eyes.

Remember, there is no single correct way to draw anime eyes. Add your own styles, shapes sizes, etc. When drawing the eyes, make sure they aren’t too big. If they end up to big, they may cause all of the attention to go to the eyes.

Plus it wouldn’t look right if the eyes took up too much space on the face. Eyes hold a lot of character, so spend some more time on them. Pick the right colors. Eyes are normally one basic color with many accompanying shades, and another relative colour.

(Ex. Brown eyes with a bit of yellow, or blue eyes with some turquoise.) If you are struggling with developing your style, try combining different styles from different references and change to your liking.

Ask other people to look at your drawing. Different perspectives from different people help spot mistakes. Don’t make too many shiny spots; the average is 2, but don’t be afraid to add a bit more. No shiny spots also help if you are trying to make your character sleepy, feeling faint, possessed/hypnotized, etc.

To get that drowsy, just out of bed look, draw the eyes a little bit closed and ( if you want) draw dark circles under the bottom eye area. Bigger eyes tend to be drawn on female characters. Eyes for male characters can be thinner and with no eyelashes.

Make sure the eyes show what emotion or how he/she feels. For example, if the character is feeling mad make sure you draw the eyebrows at angles. If you have your colors for eye but don’t know to apply them, go darker by the pupil and get lighter as you go outward.

Try to make sure that the eyes are of the same size. Draw squares or rectangles of the same size if you need an outline. When drawing a manga where there are mostly male characters, in styles like shoujo, it’s okay to play up the eyelashes a bit and make them thicker and more intricate than they usually would be.

As long as you can clearly tell whether a character is a boy or girl based on other things, like proportions, how subtle and smooth the lines are, and the thickness of the neck, there doesn’t have to be a dramatic difference in lashes.

Add a small line from the outer edge of that, pointing inside and going diagonally downward.

Make a small curved line for the top of the eye, and add eyelashes. Then add another small curve for the bottom of the eye. The top lid is generally thicker than the bottom lid.

Anime is a drawing style that originates from Japan. Anime eyes are very different from natural eyes, but still tend to communicate personality. When an anime eye is drawn, the externally visible part of the eye, the orbit, the eyelid, and the eyelashes are depicted. Let’s begin!

Draw two brushed curves which are thinner at the left. The upper curve is also thicker than the one below it.

Draw the pupil part with a pencil. Draw an oval/circle along the line between the pupil and the iris, and add more inside the pupil. Colour everything, leaving out the circles. The circles reflect the light off the white background, giving the viewer the impression of shining eyes.

Draw the pupil. You can either draw a full ellipse, or only part of it, depending on how much of the eye is obscured by the lash line. This ellipse should be on the tall and skinny side and centered as well as possible.

The parts that go through the highlights should be erased.

Italiano: Disegnare Occhi in Stile Anime, Español: dibujar ojos anime, Deutsch: Anime Augen zeichnen, Português: Desenhar Olhos Estilo Anime, Français: dessiner des yeux façon manga,

Color with a base color. Leave the highlights white. The pupil can either be black or a really dark version of the iris color.

Show the iris with a circle. Don’t draw the whole thing, only a large fraction of it. The rest of the iris is tucked under the eyelid.

Once you’ve completed one eye, trace it on a piece of tracing paper and either trace or copy it over. If you don’t have tracing paper, just keep drawing and rubbing out. If one eye is a bit bigger than the other, it’ll look better once you shade it in.

Draw two small horizontal ovals – bigger at the left than at the right. Draw another brushed curve for the eyelashes but smaller than the first and add another small curve that extends from the small eyelashes.

In anime, characters often have colorful eyes depending on the art style. If you want to draw in a specific art style (eg: Black Butler), then pay attention to how dark or light the eyes are and how many highlights you should add.

If you are drawing in your own style, feel free to choose any colors and combinations you want.

Is it okay that one of the eyes I made doesn’t truly look like an eye?

Draw a partial oblong (not closed) that touches or overlaps the eyelashes.

Shade in. Top to bottom. Dark to light. In the middle of the eye, shade a darker circle, for the pupil.

Make sure that when doing 3/4 views, the eyes are proportionate. Some guys’ eyes have extreme eyelashes, but they can easily look like a girl’s.

Draw a brushed curve that evenly varies in thickness – thickest at the middle and thinnest at the left end. This will be for the brow.

It’s not necessarily hard, but it takes practice. Don’t expect to make great eyes right away. You can make easy kawaii eyes by making a circle, with one big circle and two small circles inside of it.

No, there are many ways to draw anime eyes. If your follow the basic shape and reflection circles, you should be good.

Draw the top upper eyelash. Draw a slight curve, about as much as you would draw for a resting eyebrow.
