Please PAUSE the “How to Draw a Killer Whale” video after each step to draw at your own pace. For the first few steps, don’t press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin. Step 1: Draw a long, narrow oval as a guide for the killer whale’s body.
The shape of the oval will determine the final shape of the whale, so try not to make the oval too long or too thin. The end result should be similar to a pill. Be sure to leave enough room on either side so you can draw the rest of the killer whale.
Step 2: On the left side of the oval, draw a long arc as a guide for the killer whale’s head. The length of the arc should be about one-third the size of the original oval. Step 3: Draw two intersecting lines inside the killer whale’s head to help you place the facial features later on.
Step 4: Draw a tall triangle above the middle section of the original oval as a guide for the killer whale’s dorsal fin. Step 5: Draw a U-shaped arc under the section where the head meets the original oval as a guide for the killer whale’s pectoral fins.
There are three to five types of Killer Whales. Killer whales have good eyesight above and below the water, excellent hearing, and a good sense of touch. They have exceptionally sophisticated echolocation abilities, detecting the location and characteristics of prey and other objects in their environment by emitting clicks and listening for echoes.
The lifespans of killer whales depend on the will of the animal. Day-to-day Killer Whale behaviour generally consists of foraging, travelling, resting and socializing.
